Everyday, women are bombarded with society’s views of beauty. Those images are plastered everywhere in magazines, on television and of course on runways.
But now there has been a shift that is requiring change. More and more women are no longer accepting those images. So what happens when the landscape of beauty changes? Better yet, what happens when a group of empowering young women from the University of Missouri come together to present a powerful event that encourages women to love who they are? With that in mind, the Fluffy Girl Summit was born from the vision of my Soror.
The summit was an engaging every step of the way. As a panelist, I had the opportunity to share my thoughts and opinions as well as gain an invaluable perspective from the other young ladies and their experiences with being curvy. You also had an opportunity to shop with various vendors. The event was topped off by a fashion show representing shops and designers that catered to curves.
It was truly a pleasure being around such inspiring young women. I wish them all the best!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lately I have found myself pushing my reset button. Not because I have become lazy and disinterested, but because I am now more focused on my destiny, more in-tune with myself and having more ideas that I want to tackle in the very near future. So in order to make sure that things are in order and before I become to hyper-sensitive, I push the reset button.
I find that when I do, I become more relaxed and I avoid burning completely out. I could never have imagined the roads that I am taking. That is why God doesn’t reveal it all at once because if we are not ready, we would simply mess everything up. So I am grateful for having a rest button, it’s always there when I need it. RESET!
